On Page Search Engine Optimization What You Have To Do For The Best Results
Search Engine Optimization for Google
On-page SEO is what you do on your web page, it’s about how you structure and build your website. It’s not about getting back-links, that is off-page SEO.
It’s not as important as off-page search engine optimization but it’s still important. You should view on-page search engine optimization as the base, the starting point for all your optimization efforts. You have to get your on-page SEO right before you start your off-page work.
Search engine optimization strategy
On-page search engine optimization is mostly about the content on your site. Once your have decided on the main keyword your site will be focusing on you have to start including that keyword in as many places as possible, for example.
- In the domain or file name. If you haven’t got a domain name yet and are just planning your site, it’s a very good idea to buy a domain name which has the main keyword in there. If you already have a website and you’re just adding/uploading files you want to have your keyword term in the file name.
- In the Tile Tag, preferably at the beginning. Your title tag is what someone searching for in the search engines will see so it has to make sense, it cannot just be a list of keywords. You may rank high in Google, but if a searcher sees a load of gibberish they are not going to click on your link. Also try to keep it to under 70 charters.
- H1 tag, H2, H3 are not so important but you defiantly want your keyword in any H1 tag.
- Description and meta tags,
- First and last paragraph, you should try and scatter your keyword throughout your content and aim for a keyword density of around 3-5% but defiantly make sure the keyword is in the first and last paragraph. Remember you content still has to make sense, don’t just use keywords for the sake of it.
- Image alt tag, make sure any related image has the keyword in it’s alt tag.
- Next make sure you have internal linking on your site, so you have relevant pages linking to each other. Try to put your keyword in the anchor text.
Google Loves Content
Your content needs to contain around 500 words, the more the better. Google loves content the more original content you can provide the higher you will rank. You will also need to make sure that the content contains related keyword to your main keyword phrase, this is so the search engines will definitely know that your content is about your chosen keyword.
Fast Loading Website
You need to provide a good user experience on your site, this can be done by providing quality content, good site navigation, having a well designed site, the content is easy to read and well formatted, relevant and helpful images, and not having tons of advertisements everywhere. You also have to make sure your site loads quickly on your visitors browser, Google will mark you down for having a slow loading site. You can check out your sites page speed here at the Google Page Speed Tool
Achieving a Low Bounce Rate
If your website has all of these qualities you should achieve a low bounce rate, this is another area Google marks your site. If you have a high bounce rate, where someone visits your site and leaves straight away, the search engines will mark you down because they see your site as not being relevant for that keyword term.
Here’s What Not To Do
- Do not use your keywords too many times as this is keyword spamming. If you just write naturally and your content reads well then there should be no problem.
- Do not duplicate your content, title tags, and description on other pages of your website. This is a big no, no!
- Do not use hidden text, this is text that does not show on your web site but is hidden in the code.
Traffic Generation – The Truth!
Traffic Generation The Truth
There’s a traffic program going around currently proclaiming that just publishing five articles per month to ezine articles can lead to an increase in traffic. That’s complete rubbish, For anyone who is only submitting articles to ezine articles as your only traffic strategy you’ll need to be submitting fifty to one hundred plus each and every month to see the kind of traffic that’s being stated in this training course.
Traffic is Important
Generating traffic is an important, massive subject, there’s article marketing, banner advertising, blogging, ezine advertising, search engine optimization, social media marketing…. this list is quite limitless. What I’ve discovered with traffic generation is many people don’t have understanding with what they should be doing. So… let’s provide you with some understanding!
Totally Unrealistic Expectation
The very first thing I want to do is help you to achieve a genuine knowledge of traffic generation. Note the word ‘genuine’. I have discovered that almost everyone has a totally unrealistic expectation of obtaining traffic. This might be simply because each week you will find there’s new product released with a ‘guru’ proclaiming to have the ability to show you the ‘secret Google loophole which will deliver hundreds and hundreds of targeted traffic to your web site overnight’ or something that is equally absurd. Viewing these types of messages time and time again has encouraged people to think that there has to be some traffic generation secret that, whenever they realize its, will transform their online marketing endeavors.
Sorry, but there isn’t one.
Traffic generation requires work, a lot of work Of course, if you don’t want to do this hard work then you should think again about your online business model.
Now uploading articles to ezine articles will produce some targeted traffic, although not loads. I had somebody create and submit 35 content articles to ezine articles a little while ago to be a test to determine the amount of site visitors it might provide to one of my web sites. The end result? Approximately 800 website visitors in 6 months. That’s not what most marketer’s have led you to believe is it? Most marketer’s have led you to imagine that all you need to do is submit articles to ezine articles and a avalanche of website visitors will come to your website. It’s total rubbish. You will actually generate traffic by posting content articles to ezine articles but if you aren’t prepared to publish a hundred content articles plus a month, each and every month, it’s not going to be huge amounts of traffic.

Traffic Ultimatum Review
Whenever I’m asked what traffic course have I used or would recommend, then the first course that always springs to mind is Traffic Ultimatum by George Brown. (Click Here for the sales page BUT please read the rest of this review before you do) I bought this when it was first released, it was a comprehensive course in traffic generation at a very good price. It’s been out a while now but the content is still relevant.
The course sells for $197 but on top of that when you sign up you are forced to sign up to a monthly payment plan of $39. This gives you access to their member’s area. Take note of the word ‘forced’ here. It’s not an option. You have to sign up to it!
Now I recommend Traffic Ultimatum not so long ago to a friend of mine, I was completely shocked when they told me that they are still forcing you to sign up to their monthly plan but there’s no membership area.
I could not believe that whilst they are still selling the membership and charging people for it there’s no membership area. In other words you are forced into paying forty bucks a month but…. you don’t actually get anything for that.
My friend showed me an email from Traffic Ultimatum customer support that said Traffic Ultimatum was owned by Alex Shelton and the membership site had been discontinued!!!
So the site is still accepting payments but not giving the customer what it’s selling. So why do they not just close it? Or at least
remove the forced monthly payment option? Could it be that they are hoping people will sign up and not realize they are not actually getting what was offered? Who knows? But I think we both agree it’s a bizarre situation. If you no longer sell something…stop selling it!
Now I don’t know if Alex Shelton or George Brown is responsible for this. But in my eyes even if George has sold the site to Alex he should be doing whatever he can to stop Alex accepting payments and not delivering on what is being sold. After all it still has his name on it!
So my advice is………………well this is really hard. I love this course, for the price it’s one of the best course’s on traffic generation…….. but I just don’t like the way they are basically ripping you off. My friend is not so wet behind the ears but a newbie my not realize they are paying a monthly fee for NOTHING!
So it’s up to you, if you really like the sales page and think you will benefit from this course then go ahead and sign up it really is a very good course (Click Here to be taken to the sales page) but remember to email their customer support and cancel the monthly fee and I think it’s only right that you given them a bit of grief for selling something that they don’t have!
What Is Affiliate Marketing And How Does It Work For Your Business
If you are asking yourself the question, what is affiliate marketing, you will need to first understand how it works so that you can put the concept into practice. It is simply to promote and sell someones products or services in return for commission. Here is more information on different types of affiliate marketing.
Affiliate marketing is a promotional strategy that is entirely internet based. E-commerce affiliates are paid for introducing customers to a website or company. Even bloggers and online forum members can become eCommerce affiliates and earn commission for referrals.
So the practice of sending business referrals from online sales people to online businesses is referred to as affiliate marketing. The number of sales and website hits generated with the help of these affiliates will determine the percentage of profits shared between the site owner and the marketer. Some of the most popular ways of earning money through this type of advertising are pay per click promotions, pay per sales, pay per lead, comparison shopping, weblogs and email lists as well as business promotions through websites.
Pay per click refers to an online advertising technique where a promoter pays the referrer if a visitor clicks on an advert. In this method of advertising, the content relevant to the web page is displayed on the site. Web users are more likely to click on these adverts while they are browsing online, thus the advertiser gets charged by the website owner.
There are many comparison shopping websites displaying lists of products or services that are on offer. Many portals support these comparison services, whereby users can compare the prices of these products or services through competitive websites before buying them. This is when affiliates will be able to make money by referring these sites to the users.
Pay per lead is another type of promotion strategy that works every time a customer registers at a sellers website after seeing the advertisement on the affiliates site. The referrer will then receive a set amount of money. Pay per lead is an effective way of earning a steady income once you dedicate some time and effort into it.
Pay per sale works in a similar way as pay per lead. For every sale resulting from adverts that are shown on the referrers website, some commission is given as a share of profits. Product promotion through websites is another great way of making money as there are a lot of sites that offer commission to referrers. Customers can get discounts and rewards by purchasing a product online. This includes free delivery service. So the client is encouraged to buy from the seller.
Finally, emails, forums and blogs can be used as great marketing techniques for developing customer relationships. Blogs and emails are popular ways of sending out promotional messages. Businesses have the opportunity to interact with their potential clients and talk about their products and services through forums and blogs. You may try any of the above strategies for attracting customers to the sellers website. The best thing about affiliate marketing is that the risks are low, and most marketers do not need any money to start promoting businesses. So the question, what is affiliate marketing can be defined as an advertising technique that is based on the internet.
Search Engine Optimization Can Actually Be Done By You!
When you have your own website you want it to make it rank as highly as possible on the search engine results. This will give you plenty of free traffic providing you have done things right. If you do not optimize your website you will end up lower down the rankings on page five, six or even lower! Very few people are going to know your website exists, who looks past page 3 of Google? You would be mistaken if you believe that it needs some secret special knowledge or the involvement of a specialist company. You can actually do some of the basics yourself, please read on for a few tips on what you can do to make a difference.
Keywords are most important for making your site as visible as possible to those people who would be interested in what you are doing. The thing here is to look at the keywords that your target audience/customer are using to search with. Googles keyword tool is a great tool to help you, Click Here for the link to the keyword tool.
There is more to it than for example just saying you are a plumber! This is because there are too many people competing for that term, it’s a popular search term. You will be competing with all the large plumbing companies, DIY stores and other plumbing websites that have been around for a long time. When starting out you need to optimize your website for what is called long-tail keywords, so a long-tail plumbing key word could be emergency plumber but you will still find lots of competition for that. So an even better keyword word is emergency plumber Northampton, so emergency plumber and the area you want to find work in. You will only be competing with emergency plumbers in Northampton for page rank. It really pays here to do your keyword homework, find what people are searching for and optimize your website accordingly.
A quick word about keyword spamming! If you just wrote, emergency plumber Northampton, emergency plumber Northampton, emergency plumber Northampton all the way down the page, yes your web page will have lots of relevant keywords but Google and other search engines are not silly, they will mark your site as a spam site and kick you off their search engines very quickly.
The keywords then need to be entered in to your sites meta tags (click here for meta tag information) I hope to write a post soon on meta tags! Basically they are tags on your site, which are hidden to you but seen by the search engines. You also need to include your keywords in the heading and as much as possible in the text of your website.
Do not overload with keywords as they need to appear naturally, the text needs to read and flow properly otherwise your visitors will think you are a little strange if you mention plumbing after every four words! If you have images on the page then rename them so they have the keywords included in their description. All of this is going to make a difference to your ranking however there is still much work to be done!
What Are The Various Aspects Of Search Engine Optimization?
If you’re new to search engine optimization then there’s lots of basic, easy things you can do to help push your site up in the rankings. That doesn’t mean that getting a site to rank on the first page of Google for a popular search term is going to be easy. There’s over 200 signals which are read by search engines such as Google, most of the techniques that can improve the ranking of a web site require a lot of time and effort.
The whole purpose of search engine optimization is to look at, and where necessary change information associated with your web page. You can also associate that page with relevant information so that it will appear higher up in the search results, an example is to embed a relevant YouTube video into your page. Your intention should always be to deliver the most relevant information for the search result you are optimizing for.
There are many ways the system can be manipulated but I do not recommend you use any of these, Google’s not silly! They will drop you down the search results or banish your site altogether if they find you using any under hand methods. The best way to rank well is to have high quality and relevant content. you need to research what people are searching for and then give them what they are looking for. A fantastic tool to find what people are searching for is Google’s keyword tool

Some optimizing techniques are just simply removing different obstacles to get the ranking that your page should be getting. This could be as simple as changing the wording in your content so that you use more terms that are searched for more often. Changing the structure of your page could also make a difference and changes to the HTML code in a page can also help to improve its rankings.
It’s also important to remember that each of your pages is ranked individually. Just because they are all from the same site does not mean that they will all get ranked equally. If all the pages from your site rank well it can improve their individual PageRank, you should also try to cross link pages where possible.
The original algorithm to work out how a web page was ranked was created by Larry Page and Sergey Brin and it gave each page a level of impotence based on the number of inbound links. This system eventually became manipulated by exchanging links and getting links from link farms, so this method is now given less importance than it use to but It’s still a factor in the results and even now can still be used quite effectively to help move you up the rankings.
Remember sites can get banned for using unscrupulous practices but it’s still possible to gain inbound links in legitimate ways. One of the most popular is to post articles containing a link back to your site in article directories. Some of the most popular directory’s are
- https://members.ezinearticles.com
These directory’s can be used in different ways to get a high number of high quality back-links.

As was said before it ‘s the quality and relevance of the content that can make the biggest difference to search engine optimization. First of all you need to ensure you have researched your keyword choices making sure they will be attracting the right kind of visitors. If your visitors are interested in what you have to offer then they will stay longer. The longer someone stays on your page the more relevant it will appear to the search engines and this in turn will increase your PageRank.
